I bought a gift certificate for my parents for Christmas 2007, so they could enjoy a romantic dinner by themselves. I spent $160.00 for the dinner coupon and added a 25% tip to the gift certificate. My parents called in May of 2008 to book thier reservation and the number was disconnected. The website is under construction. I called the Utah consumer protection but basically I am just out the money. Thier business license expired in July 2008. The only information I could get on how to contact them to be reimbursed was that the owners were Steven and Donna Ingram in Stansbury, Utah. They are not listed in the phone book so....o'well. Lesson learned.

Pros: none

Cons: didn't even get to try it

My husband and I went on the Salt Island sunset cruise and had a great time. The food was delicious. You could sit inside or outside. We wanted to get a full experience, so we sat at a table on the deck for the dessert. The waitress still found us and served a prompt and lovely dessert. The service was friendly, prompt, and luxurious, for lack of a better word. We felt pampered and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to go on a cruise, but doesn't have the time to travel to the coast and then spend a few days at sea. This sunset cruise is a mini-vacation and I did feel like we went somewhere else. It refreshed us. I felt that we got our money's worth. Just as in life, a cruise is what you make of it. They played nice music, so my husband and I danced on the deck. Other couples watched us, and it seemed they wished they weren't so self-conscious. By the time they regretfully got the courage to join us in dancing, we docked back to the pier. So, if you go on the cruise, really enjoy yourself and make the most of it, you'll be very glad that you did.

I can't review the SL Adventures - Great Salt Lake State Marina Dinner Cruise but I can, however review the the Antelope Island Adventures - Buffalo Pt Dinner Cruise. Our cruise is operating out of the Antelope Island Marina...we serve fresh hot meals, choice of Prime Rib or Chicken Cordon Blu, we do not assess gratuity but allow you to tip according to the experience, we operate every weekend until summer and then we add additional trips. The cruise is approx. 1.5hrs and, oh, ya, we have the most beautiful sunsets you can see. Call 888-878-8002 to make reservations or get more information. Also, if you have a reservation on the SL cruise and can show proof that you were left high and dry on the dock...tell us, show us and we will give you a discount....

VERY DISAPPOINTED. WE HAD TO WAIT ON THE DOCK FOR ABOUT 35 MINUTES IN THE FREEZING COLD. WE GOT A $9.95 PRIME RIB DINNER. WE WERE SERVED 15 MINUTES AFTER THE REST OF THE GUESTS WERE DONE EATING. BUT REGUARDLESS, WE WERE CHARGED 20% FOR A TIP. THE SERVICE DOESN'T HAVE TO BE GOOD, THEY GET THE TIP ANYWAY. THIS WAS NOT DISCLOSED WHEN MAKING RESERVATIONS. I WOULD NOT RECOMMED THIS FOR A $135.00 EVENING ON THE TOWN FOR TWO. THE SUNSET REALLY WAS AMAZING, BUT I DON'T THINK THE CREW HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THAT.

My husband and I recently got married upon the great salt lake. We did all the arrangements through Salt Island Adventures. We were so pleased. The decorations and flowers were so beautiful, the Captain was very compasionate to position the boat so that we didnt have light in our eyes, and had the best lighting for our photos. We had a intimate and very memorable special day that we will remember forever. I couldn't have asked for more. So many people said, "I didn't know you could do this". It was such a wonderful experiance. I would do it all again.

We celebrated my wife's birthday party aboard the Island Serenade! We had all of our friends and family there from all of the U.S. . We had a fantastic time the food and service was great! We enjoyed a delicious meal with great service. We will all definetly be back for another cruise with our friends this summer. It was nice to know that we could go out with all of our freinds on the water so close to home and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Pros: Customer Service, Atmosphere

Wonderful Evening! I just want to tell you what a pleasant time my husband and I had on a recent dinner cruise for our anniversary! the cruise was very pleasant and the atmosphere was beautiful! the price of the cruise was very reasonable and I could not believe the sunsets on the Great Salt lake. I had thought that the Great Salt Lake had a smell and once we were on the water there was no smell at all. I learned about how beautiful this body of water could really be, and being so close to my home it is not a great deal to travel to the lake. Our freinds had recommended the cruise and we will tell everyone we know what a beautiful experience it truly was. I learned of all the upcoming cruises they had planned from the Caribbean nights and murder mysteries I am really excited to go back out on the water. The expereince was one of the anniversaries I will always remember.

Pros: Sunsets!

My husband and I recently went out on a Valentines Cruise on the Great Salt Lake. The atmosphere was very romantic, we had a private window seat with fine linens and flowers. We had a wonderful experience the sunset was spectacular and food was delicious! the service was spectacular and we can't wait to take another dinner cruise this Spring. I would recommend this cruise to all of my friends and am planning a spring Birthday party!

Basics: Fiance and I went on a sunset Valentines dinner cruise. It lasted 1.5 hours. Pricing – A mandatory 20% tip per couple based off of the total cost ($108) for the crew. This “tip” was suddenly imposed upon each couple at the end of the evening. The company website mentioned a 18% mandatory tip for parties of 10 or more, but said nothing of 20% for a party of two. We felt that given the quality of the dinner that was served, as well as the service, the extra taxing was unjustified and said a lot about the greed of the owners. Drinks were also billed for at the end of the trip. In my previous experience, most non-alcoholic drinks are included in meals you are billed for before hand. Dumping a previously unmentioned charge on each couple at the end of the evening was in bad taste, and a testament to their general lack of concern for their customer’s experience. Environment – Couples were packed together before small tables within the dinning area. Especially disconcerting given the fact that it was pitched as being a “romantic environment.” Romantic, perhaps, if (as a man) I was interested in the man leaning next to me. Also, as the evening progressed the windows of the ship fogged up, preventing us from viewing the lake. The owner came by with a towel, wiping them down, but 2 mins later they where fogged up again. Food – Food was decent, though not delectable. Customers were served a pre-dinner salad, a 6 oz piece of meat and sides of baby carrots and potatoes. It was a meal I could have prepared at home in 15mins. Couples were served their food & then the crew immediately congregated to the ship’s small bar to chat with each other. Our drinks were not refilled once during the course of the evening. It was this quality of service that really made the additional end of evening bill even more irritating. Overall: Obviously, I was disgruntled after this our experience. I would recommend people save their time and money and skip this one.

Pros: Short duration

Cons: Overpriced given quality, poor environment, average food, unprepared for conditions

We recently went out for our 50th anniversay. We had lived here all of our lives and never been out on the lake. We had a wonderful dinner and enjoyed a spectacular sunset. I was able to capture pictures of both the sunset and the full moon coming up over the mountains. The boat had large picture window that gave us views of the islands and city while we enjoyed our delicous dinner. The food was marvelous and the crew and servers were very freindly. We will definetly be returning with our grandchildren for there Sailing with Santa this winter to see the lake in a whole new light.

Pros: Sunset, Good Prices, Romantic
