For the first time, I went into Breathe the other day for manicure and pedicure instead of a massage. I expected to endure the usually uncomfortable treatment that women have done for the sake of keeping their hands and feet beautiful but instead I experienced the most wonderful and relaxing (and most importantly pain free!) treatment. Even though I was not booked for the typical massage treatment, an attendant took me to the tea room and offered me all the usual amenities including a hot neck wrap which real helps the tension from the real world melt away very quickly. While I was enjoying that, my therapist Jodi showed me to the mani-pedi room and provided with more food and cider to enjoy during the treatment. She was incredibly attentive during the treatment and afterwards, all of my appendages felt they had their fair share of the treatment. I was a bit scared of the paraffin wax part of the treatment at first but it turned out to be my favorite part of the treatment and was a life saver for my dry skin. I was also amazed at their selection of shades of nail polish. After my treatment, I found some great gift ideas on my way out of Breathe for my more difficult to shop for people. I'll definitely be stopping into to Breathe for gifts when the holidays roll around and hopefully a few treatments to distress from the holidays!
Pros: Great treatments, relaxing environment
Cons: Sugarhouse parking is not the greatest but Breathe is definitely worth it

...might be why the service is going down hill. Breathe was owned by a great couple. Apparently the new owners don't care as much about the little things like customer service and tea rooms... I know the old owners were very particular about the therapists, etc. they would hire. It's too bad really when someone takes something wonderful and turns it bad.

Breathe, is a wonderful, relaxing day spa. When you first walk in, you are instantly taken in by the decor that is very carefully picked out. It was my first time in for a massage, but second or third for a pedicure. I had never ever had a massage before, and always wanted to try it. It was a outstanding experience, and I would definitely get it done again and again, and i strongly recommend it to anyone. Seeing as it was my first time having this done, i stuck to the Total Relaxation, which was just perfect for what i needed.I also loved my pedicure, even though I have very ticklish feet, from the parrafin wax to the exfoliants, plus the huge variety of colors, I was VERY impressed. The staff and employees were all very friendly, and respectful. I will definitely be coming back very very soon.

I usually go to breathe 2-3 times per year and get there european facials and 1 hr relaxation massage. However the visit today, will defenitely be my last. A friend had scheduled appts for us on Saturday at 3:15. When they called they also confirmed same time. We arrived right on schedule and were greeted by an annoyed and unfriendly employee at the desk. After being taken back to our changing rooms, it became obvious to me that things were going downhill fast. We were not asked if we would like a beverage while we wait, or even taken back to the tea room or given a neck pillow (which is customary prior to the massages there). Instead, as soon as we changed our therapists met us in the hall and hurried through a 60 min massage, which they also neglected to tell us they had raised the prices on by $20.00). Afterwards, my therapist handed me some water and said to just take my service bill up to the front to pay. I found my friend waiting in the tea room afterwards, with her neck wrap and snacks. I waited and waited for someone to walk by and finally asked someone if i could please have a neck wrap and tea, explaining that we weren't even asked by anyone earlier. She mumbled a "oh that's weird...", and brought me what I'd asked. As we went to pay we found out a 60 minute massage now costs $80 and the same girl working up front continued to glare at us and be rude. Since she didn't ask or seem to care how the service was, I voiced my questions about if the tea room was now after treatments. She answered, "Well.. only if you're late." Implying that we were late, I corrected her and all she said again was "Oh that's weird." Bottom line- if they are going to charge more for a service it better be good. I always used to have a good experience at breathe, I won't go there again. They showed no concern for correcting the problem
Pros: beautiful spa, great tea room (when you get it)
Cons: too expensive for bad customer service

My sister and I used to be huge fans of Breathe. I dropped about $300 a month at the spa back in the day. I the past year and a half, they have lost all of their "good" aestheticians and replaced them with tehcnicians who have no clue what they are talking about and just try to sell you product during your entire service. We book a spa day package every year for our birthday, and even though we hadn't been liking Breathe very much, we decided to give it one last shot. From the minute we walked in the door, the front desk staff was rude and dismissive. The attendant said I had no record on file, even though I had been going there for 6 years. They had lost all my information, especially the important note that said I am highly sensitive to a certain brand of wax they used. I asked the attendant to note that I had brought my own Breathe spa robe that I had purchased two years prior so they wouldn't think I was stealing it. She gave me a vague "Yeah, ok" and just went right on ignoring us. We went back into the tea room expecting to wait ten minutes until our facials. Well, come to find out they had accidently booked our facials for an hour later, so we had to sit in the dark room with nothing to read or do for an hour. We finally got into our facial room. I had requested an eyebrow wax and a 60 minute facial. Well, come to find out the technician starting timing me from the minute she turned the light on to wax my brows. It took her 25 minutes to work on my brows and then she hurried through my facial, which was supposed to be an hour! It was the worst facial I have ever had! At the end of our day, we went to check out and a new girl was at the front desk. She was the rudest person I have ever met in my life! She accused me of stealing a robe as we were leaving. I could go on and on about how horrid this spa has become but there isn't enough space. It is not worth the money! Used to be great 2 years ago, horrid now. I recommend the Kura Door! Pricey, but worth it!
Pros: I like the decor, and they have some good products.
Cons: Rudest staff ever, inexperienced technicians, new management every 3 months

Had one of the best massages ever! However, they are hard to get into, unless you call way in advance.
Pros: Great massage with Amy.
Cons: Book in advance

My first and last visit to Breathe Day Spa consisted of an overpriced massage that was nothing to write home about - I've had 10x better from my boyfriend. I paid $30 extra for a scalp massage that consisted mostly of the girl gently spreading oil all over my face. wtf??? In addition, I was told that I did not need to present the gift certificate that I had purchased for my mother last Christmas. I was told more than once while booking the appointment that if we could not find the actual gift certificate, the spa could find it in the system, and that this was not a problem. When I mentioned that we would try to track it down, the girl confidently responded and I quote "Don't bother". When my mother arrived on the day of our appointment, she was told that she absolutely HAD to have the actual gift certificate, that there was no way for the Breathe Staff to locate this otherwise. I wound up having to pay for the service, find the gift certificate (luckily), and bring it in for a refund. This was a major hassle that could have been avoided had the girl told me this when I booked the appointment. I understand and appreciate the fact that the girl who booked the appt obviously had no idea what she was talking about. I understand and appreciate the fact that the staff could not look up the gift certificate in their system. What was extremely frustrating was the way they handled the entire situation. Not once did anyone apologize for the misunderstanding. Instead, the girls at the counter more or less called me a liar, saying that they would never have said what they did over the phone. My recent experience at Breathe Day Spa left me feeling uptight, agitated and extremely disappointed. Isn't this the exact opposite of the way a day at the spa is supposed to make a customer feel? Especially after dropping $500 for their lackluster service. I am sad to say that I would never recommend Breathe Day Spa to any of my friends - nor to my enemies.
Pros: Kandie the Nail Technician was the highlight of my experience
Cons: Parking, Massage Technique, Price, Professionalism

I have been to this spa and had many different services. Everything has been out-of-this-world wonderful! The reception area is inviting and has a lot of interesting items to buy. The changing rooms are large beautiful bathrooms, some with showers. The waiting area is inviting and cozy. They bring you a little tray of refreshments, which is nice. I have never had a bad technician at this spa. Try the Shirodhara. It's AMAZING!
Pros: GREAT ambience
Cons: None

A perfect get away from the everyday life. The Spa's ambiance saduces you with its luxury the moment you walk in and the friendly professional stuff makes sure you relax and enjoy your experience until the moment you walk out. Get some calming camomile tea before your treatment, and visit the vanity room before you leave the spa.

i love how breathe does the unexpected. they give you a snack, a beverage, a hot eucalyptus face towel, and a warm neck wrap before your service. i don't know of any other spa that does that! you are very unrushed, and you get to use any of the amenities there if you please after your service. and there is always someone there to take care of you. by far the best spa I've EVER been to!!
Pros: EVERYTHING!!!!
Cons: i would suggest them to upgrade to more treatment rooms, a little big bigger of a spa
